The gastronomy as a main element of service has never been a leading motive, which stimulates the tourist to travel around the world. But nowadays, more and more people want to eat and drink under attractive conditions. The art of culinary should be the motive which raises the necessity of putting gastronomy tourism on equal terms together with holiday- , cultural-, eco-, healthy and spa tourism. The role of the gastronomy tourism is extremely important because it can fill the gap between the winter and summer seasons. The native mixed grill (meshana skara) attracts tourists. The traditional Bulgarian dishes can bring as many foreign guests as our ski resorts, say the tour operators.Shkembe chorba, banitsa, shopska salata, haidouk barbeque, sharp rakia and selected wines tempt the tourists to have a holiday here. We have to take advantage of this trend. A British survey, presented at the tour expo in London, shows that 83% from the tourists with prepaid vouchers are ready to give up their lunch and dinner in order to try the local specialties.Eating in Bulgarian restaurants and tasting local delicacies are very appreciated by the foreign tourists, who eat more and more at the restaurants during their holiday. The Fair of Tourism and Free Time took part in Varna a short time ago. A part of the program was the national competition “Chef of the Year 2007” with the participation of Uti Bachvarov. At the show were demonstrated enviable culinary skills and niceties and the competitors revealed a part of the secrets of the Bulgarian cuisine. |
